Embarking on his kickboxing journey at the age of 19, Wrzosek commenced his training at the renowned Copacabana club in Warsaw, guided by the experienced mentorship of Igor Kolacin. His competitive career began in wushu sanda, where he clinched the esteemed Polish championship. Throughout his stint in amateur competitions, "The Polish Hightower" engaged in over 40 fights, consistently emerging triumphant in national and international arenas. Notably, from 2014 to 2017, he proudly represented the national team, further solidifying his foundation in the world of kickboxing.
He Has Made his Mark in Many Styles
Marking a pivotal moment in his career, he inked a contract with the FEN organization in the same year and ascended to the heavyweight throne in 2017. The year 2018 ushered in a new chapter as he ventured into professional boxing, signing a contract with the Fonfara Promotions group. The same year he joined Glory, the world's largest kickboxing organization. On March 16, 2019, Wrzosek showcased his formidable skills in his final match for FEN. During the FEN 24 gala, he not only defended his title but also displayed technical mastery by securing a knockout victory over Patrick Schmid, using precisely executed low kicks.
He’s a Die-Hard Legion Man
Wrzosek is a devoted fan of Polish football powerhouse Legia Warszawa and represents his allegiance with pride both in and out of the ring. Notably, during his electrifying bout against Badr Hari at Glory 78: Rotterdam, Wrzosek made a striking statement by carrying the club's distinctive flag during his walkout. Beyond the arena, he is a familiar face in the crowd during Legia Warszawa's matches.
He Balances Academia and Athletics
Arkadiusz Wrzosek recently attained a significant academic milestone by completing his Masters’ degree in Sports Management from Warszawska Szkola Zarzadzania. Juggling the demanding life of a professional athlete, Wrzosek showcased exceptional dedication to his education. He showcased his achievement on Instagram with a caption radiating a blend of humility and accomplishment: “Master's degree... with a slight delay but I'm finishing my education. Master's degree in Sports Management.”
Triumphs in Glory
Wrzosek's Glory journey includes episodes of triumph and controversy. Stepping in at Glory 71, he secured a second-round technical knockout over Demoreo Dennis. The pinnacle came at Glory 78, where, despite suffering three knockdowns, he sensationally knocked out Hari, earning the Best Knockout of 2021. However, at Glory 80, a rematch with Hari ended in chaos due to riots, resulting in a no contest despite Wrzosek leading 19-18 on judges' scorecards.
