An often-overlooked part of the puzzle, Tibau has completed four hours and 53 minutes of fight time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Operating out of the powerhouse American Top Team camp in Coconut Creek, Florida, Tibau has won more fights in the UFC lightweight division (17) than any fighter in history. His list of vanquished opponents includes Terry Etim, Jeremy Stephens, Josh Neer, Caol Uno, Rafael dos Anjos, Francisco Trinaldo, Jamie Varner and Pat Healy. The longtime Brazlian jiu-jitsu black belt has secured 13 of his 33 career victories by submission but has become known more for his takedown prowess: His 84 takedowns landed lead all active fighters on the UFC roster.
Tibau last competed at UFC Fight Night 77 on Nov. 7, 2015, when he submitted Abel Trujillo with a first-round rear-naked choke. However, he was subsequently disqualified after failing an out-of-competition drug test and later suspended for two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
