7. Michael Bisping
One of the UFC’s most polarizing figures, Bisping burst on the global scene in 2006, when he carved through the competition on Season 3 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” The 33-year-old Englishman has been a consistent presence on the UFC roster ever since, excelling in both the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions. Despite his detractors -- and there are many -- Bisping has been nothing if not durable, as he has been finished only once in 26 professional appearances: his encounter with Dan Henderson’s right hand at UFC 100 has become a staple of promotional highlight reels. An accurate, volume puncher with superb conditioning and excellent defensive grappling skills, he owns notable victories against former International Fight League champion Dan Miller, onetime Icon Sport middleweight titleholder Jason “Mayhem” Miller, UFC mainstay Chris Leben and 2006 Pride Fighting Championships welterweight grand prix finalist Denis Kang. Bisping pushed consensus No. 2-ranked middleweight Chael Sonnen to the limit at UFC on Fox 2 in January, losing a controversial decision many felt he won. The defeat halted Bisping’s four-fight winning streak but made him no less of a factor at 185 pounds.
