8. Joe Stevenson
Stevenson was a two-division King of the Cage champion before he burst on the global scene by winning Season 2 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series. The Torrance, California, native made his presence felt at UFC 65, where he submitted Dokonjonosuke Mishima with a guillotine choke, and followed suit five months later by finishing Melvin Guillard in 27 seconds with the same maneuver. Both performances netted Stevenson “Submission of the Night” bonuses and showed he was not a man to be taken lightly on the mat. He went on to attempt 24 submissions in UFC competition, though his career was derailed by poor performance and alcoholism. A sober Stevenson will compete on “The Ultimate Fighter 25,” which could clear a path for his return to the Octagon.
