Eye was a relative unknown entering Bellator 83, where she exited the cage having authored one of the company’s most memorable moments.
The Strong Style Fight Team rep rendered Frausto unconscious with a standing arm-triangle choke in the first round of their pairing at Caesars Atlantic City. Eye floored “The Warrior Princess” with two clean hooks and a right cross, swarmed with punches and advanced to the rear waist lock position once the fallen fighter stood. Frausto turned and faced the Rootstown, Ohio, native in the clinch, only to find herself entangled in the choke. The attempt at first seemed like little more than a waste of time, but Eye gradually worked her arm under the jawline.
Frausto fought unsuccessfully to free herself before falling to her knees in an unconscious heap, the choke still in place. Watching the scene transpire, referee Bill Bookwalter swooped in for the rescue 58 seconds into Round 1.
