Who can forget the first time these two lightweights opposed each other inside the cage? It was the perfect way to end the WEC for good as “Bendo” and Pettis fought tooth and nail until the bitter end, but only one man could walk away with the victory and bragging rights as the last-ever WEC lightweight champion before the promotion folded.

Each man landed dozens of clean blows and attempted submissions, but neither combatant would succumb to the attacks. Back and forth they fought and it came down to the final round, though Pettis seemed to have the edge going in.

Finally, with precious seconds remaining on the clock, the Roufusport fighter took no chances and pulled off a Jackie Chan-esque maneuver where he literally jumped off the cage and kicked Henderson in the face, dropping him. It would have been better if the kick knocked him out, but it didn’t. Pettis won the unanimous decision, his Super Samurai Saturday technique instantly becoming one of MMA legend.
