9. Peter Petties

Petties became a late addition to the PFL field as the third scheduled opponent for Andre Harrison. The 28-year-old is a veteran of Titan Fighting Championship, TKO Major League MMA, King of the Cage and Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. The Team Lloyd Irvin product was doing well in his DWTNCS matchup with Julio Arce before being taken out in the second round. Petties is the main training partner for Sodiq Yusuff and is best-known for making an opponent vomit after landing a body kick while he was an amateur. The tall featherweight -- he used to compete at 155 pounds -- has an unorthodox striking style, which he calls Wu-Tang Shaolin. He fights similar to Bellator MMA standout Michael Page. “The Joker” leaves his hands low and taunts his opponent to attack him, while he counters with strikes from unusual angles. The southpaw’s strongest tools are his kicks to the head and body, lead check hook and high-risk spinning attacks. Though he has competed in muay Thai in Thailand, the striker with fast hands does not like being backed up when his opponent pressures. It resulted in his downfall against Arce. Petties was an NCAA Division II wrestler and occasionally looks for a takedown, though he prefers to use his wrestling to keep the fight on the feet. Petties’ late addition to the field raises questions about the depth of his gas tank. If he can conserve his energy, his elite athleticism makes him a threat.
