Flyweights
Hyun Sung Park (7-0, 0-0 UFC) vs. Seung Guk Choi (6-1, 0-0 UFC)ODDS: Park (-190), Choi (+160)
Flyweights kick off this series of “Road to UFC” finals, with this one being an all-Korean affair. A protege of Chan Sung Jung, Choi put in two strong performances in this tournament that belied his lack of experience. If anything, Choi’s run through the tournament is notable for how unremarkable it was, as he put together two workmanlike decision wins with little issue. On the other side of things is Park, who is in much the same mold as a mid-twentysomething with seven pro fights to his name, though “Peace of Mind” earned two first-round finishes to punch his ticket to this final. Despite the difference in methods of victory, there are a lot of similarities between the two as patient strikers who would much rather wrestle, with Park as the more dynamic athlete but Choi as the more comfortable fighter willing to bring a bit more pace to the affair. This should be relatively even, but with both men looking durable, Choi gets the lean as the more consistent fighter when it comes to winning rounds. The pick is Choi via decision.
