Joanderson Brito (13-3-1) vs. Lucas Alexander (7-2)

ODDS: Brito (-350), Alexander (+255)

As with most Joanderson Brito fights, this should be a fun time. A Contender Series signee in 2021, Brazil's "Tubarao" has picked up where that contract-earning performance left off, focusing on aggression and then figuring out the rest later. Brito's a dangerous threat both on the feet and on the mat - while most of his fights tend to devolve into wrestling and grappling exchanges, his 41-second knockout of Andre Fili served as a reminder of the power that Brito can bring to the table. Brito can flag over time, as his UFC debut against Bill Algeo in January showed, but he's rarely entirely out of a fight and will continue to try and press offense, which should make for an entertaining dynamic against late replacement and UFC newcomer Lucas Alexander. Brito's Brazilian countryman has some solid physical tools for the featherweight division and looks to get things done as a diverse striker; he certainly has the power in his kicks to cause some damage, but Brito should be able to get this to the ground, and if he can't immediately score a submission, he should be able to wear the UFC newcomer out and take things over as the fight goes on. The pick is Brito via second-round submission.
