Bobby Green (26-10-1) vs. Alan Patrick Silva Alves (15-2)

ODDS: Green (-245), Alves (+205)

After a UFC career that has seen him miss long stretches, Green is certainly making up for lost time during the pandemic, as this marks his third fight in as many months. Green has the type of savvy veteran game that is appreciated by seemingly everyone but the judges, as he takes glee in making his opponents look bad, whether it is dodging punches and making them miss or just talking a lot of trash. As a result, Green tends to let his opponents take the initiative either via striking or wrestling, and while they usually do not get much done, it has been enough to find him on the losing end of some controversial decisions. Thankfully, the “King” has clearly won his last two fights and looks to make it three in a row against Alves. The Brazilian is a difficult fighter to read, between his sometimes-aimless set of skills and the fact that he has spent a lot of time on the shelf, fighting only seven times during a seven-year UFC career. The most consistently present part of Alves’ game seems to be his willingness to chase a takedown, and that has never been the way to beat Green. Again, there is always the risk that the judges simply do not like what they see from Green, but he should be the much more effective fighter over three rounds. The pick is Green via decision.
