Duane Ludwig vs. Nick Osipczak
For old-school fans, “Bang” Ludwig represents everything one likes about a hardened veteran: he has often fought bigger guys, he comes to scrap and his record does not reflect his considerable talent. With potent hands and plenty of knockouts justifying one of the more appropriate nicknames in the game, he has his hands full with Osipczak. Having emerged as a decent UK talent, “The Ultimate Fighter” alum is the much bigger man and should be able to take the fight to the ground. If he cannot do so, he might be lining himself up for a slot in Ludwig’s highlight reel of picturesque knockouts.
Look for Osipczak to stay cautious on the feet, using his reach and distance to survey angles and avoid Ludwig’s dangerous power. At some point, he will need to force a tie-up and take it to the ground, where he can exert pressure and punching to wear down Ludwig.
I like Osipczak by second-round victory here, as he might just be a little too big, fresh and young.
