"I've just got to put my glove on him." -- Mike Thomas Brown on Sherdog radio's "Savage Dog Show" two days prior to his TKO win over Urijah Faber.
"I love life and I'm just a happy person. And I'll be back to get
that belt." -- Faber after his loss to Brown.
"Every time I envisioned the match and played it out through my head … the different scenarios … I never once envisioned him not fighting back. I never envisioned him just laying there. I didn't know what to do. It was similar to being at a dance with a partner who doesn't know how to dance." -- Chael Sonnen about his experience facing Paulo Filho.
"I've really done everything I can to turn my life around. And this is a huge setback for me. But it's something I will have to deal with. During my time off from fighting, I want to speak to kids about the dangers of using performance-enhancing agents and let them know it just doesn't get you ahead in life. Of course, this is a hard hit for me monetarily, but more so this is embarrassing for me and for all my fans." -- Chris Leben in a statement on his steroid test failure prior to his fight at UFC 89.
"I've been accused of using steroids my entire life, probably since the tenth grade in high school… I've never failed a drug test. Now if I was a black guy and I looked the way I do would I get asked this question a 100 times? I just happen to be a white guy that has some great genetics, so I guess that puts a bull’s-eye on me… I'm a white dude that's shredded and you don't see a lot of it — a guy that's walking around that looks like me.” –- Brock Lesnar to ProMMA Radio.
“To see us on sale online is ridiculous. We already sent them a breach of contract letter. They don’t respond to that. Instead they put this up. It’s just completely ridiculous how they’re handling this situation and completely unprofessional" -- Jake Shields to Sherdog about his EliteXC contract being advertised as for sale on the Internet.
“Who would want to buy [Icon Sport]? Without me, the Icon name isn’t really of value. So anyone that wanted to buy it would have to find me anyway." -- ICON Sport founder T. Jay Thompson to Sherdog about the possibility of his promotion being auctioned off.
"I would argue nobody's been more respectful of Senator McCain." -- President-elect Barack Obama on Steve Cofield's ESPN Radio show reacting to criticism from UFC’s Matt Hughes, a McCain supporter, that he didn’t refer to McCain as “Mr.” often enough.
"If it wasn't for the alcohol, we'd be sitting around on the couch talking about the economy and stuff. And no one wants to see that." -- Junie Browning to Cofield.
"Yeah, we did eat piss." -- Ryan Bader on this week's episode of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
The Week Ahead
The pivotal run-up to what has been hyped as the biggest fight in UFC history, Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 on Nov. 15, kicks into full gear beginning with a "Countdown" special premiering Monday night on Spike TV. Expect a blitz of go-home PR for the fight, which still has not sold out the MGM Grand Garden Arena but is expected to draw a big pay-per-view buy rate.

I didn't know what to do. It was similar to being at a dance with a partner who doesn't know how to dance." -- Chael Sonnen about his experience facing Paulo Filho.
"Who's he looking at? I feel like I'm watching the movie with Woody
Harrelson and he's like talking to Jesus or something in the middle
of the ring. Who's in there talking to him?" -- Frank Mir
during commentary of Filho's befuddling WEC performance.
