UFC President Dana White said he and Ortiz completely squashed their years-long beef when White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Ferttita visited Ortiz’s Huntington Beach, Calif., home on the recommendation of a mutual friend. Ortiz, who has headlined the second-most-bought pay-per-view and most-watched match in UFC history, recently underwent back surgery for a longtime ailment. He said he would be ready to return around November or December. An opponent has not been decided, but White revealed Mark Coleman was under consideration.
Ortiz exited the UFC in May 2008 after a decision loss to Lyoto Machida. Ortiz, who has made public complaints about the UFC’s salary scale, promised on a Friday conference call “you’ll never hear about money out of my mouth ever again.” Specifics of the deal were not clear.
