Mayhem beats Hose, eyes ‘Jacare’

MMA veteran Jason "Mayhem" Miller, riding cable television fame as the host of MTV's "Bully Beatdown," is very much back in the MMA mix, picking up an emphatic win on April 18 in Hawaii and then announcing he will be headed to Dream to challenge for that promotion's vacant middleweight championship.

Miller toppled Kala Hose via first-round rear-naked choke in Honolulu to headline the first Kingdom MMA event launched by longtime Hawaii promoter T. Jay Thompson. Miller, who built a niche fan base in Hawaii over the years, absorbed a hard shot from the heavy-handed Hose before taking the fight to the floor. There, Miller landed wild hammerfists and eventually sunk in the winning submission.

Miller confirmed after the fight that he'll challenge Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, the man who defeated him in his last fight, to crown a new Dream middleweight champion. Gegard Mousasi vacated that belt to move up in weight. Dream announced Jacare vs. Miller II for its May 26 event in Yokohama, Japan, which will also feature the next round of the featherweight grand prix, including the return to fighting of Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto versus American wrestler Joe Warren.
