Jessa Khan vs. Danielle KellyKelly is clearly a capable grappler. Remember, she tapped Cynthia Calvillo with an ankle lock in just 17 seconds back in 2019, and Calvillo was one of the better submission grapplers in women’s MMA at the time. Kelly has good balance and flexibility, solid technique and some wrestling and judo skills on her feet, though she often struggles to attain takedowns. However, Khan is a reigning International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation world champion, only 21 years old and defeated Kelly by decision back in February 2021, when she was presumably weaker and less skilled. She has amazing flexibility and fluidity, often butt-scooting towards opponents and luring foes into her highly active guard. Once on top, she gives opponents precious little space for counter offense and passes beautifully. She looks like she would a step ahead of Kelly on the ground. Given Kelly’s solid defense, Khan by decision is the pick.
