Tito vs. Griffin II
After a year-plus absence from the promotion where he became a superstar, Tito Ortiz was set to return to on Nov. 21. His fight against Mark Coleman would surely bolster a UFC card that, combined with a Brock Lesnar title defense, promised to be one of the company’s highest-profile events of 2009.
But an injury Coleman suffered to his MCL this week forced him to drop out of the fight. The UFC rebounded masterfully, booking a second main event-caliber bout.
Forrest Griffin was tapped to face Ortiz in a rematch of a 2006 bout that in many ways saw Griffin come into his own, though he lost a decision.
