In further good news for the UK MMA fan, Cage Rage informed me that they would be helping PRIDE with their aim to get PRIDE on UK television. Preliminary talks have taken place and Sherdog.com will be certain to announce any news if and when there is anything further to tell.

Cage Rage 13

'ave it!

Keeping on the Cage Rage theme, the smarter ones amongst you may have already noticed that the next Cage Rage card, entitled "No Fear," will be held at the Wembley Conference Centre on September 10. Barring the usual movement caused by last-minute injuries, I think it's safe to say that the card is looking pretty stacked.

In particular, one has to admire the sheer cojones of Jean Silva (pictures), or at least feel a bit sorry for the little Brazilian fella. In the space of two events, "The White Bear" will have fought arguably the two top fighters active in the lightweight class on the entire globe.

Having lost a decision to the baby-faced Takanori Gomi (pictures) at PRIDE Bushido, will the crazy, ninja-flipping specialist do any better against the calm and collected "Shaolin" Ribeiro? I don't think anyone expects him to win, but Silva is nothing if not ready to fight. Should be fun.

As for the other fights announced, I would urge international fans to pay special attention to the Rea, Manhoef and Bisping bouts. These are probably the three most exciting up-and-coming light heavyweights in Europe and it's good to see all three of them being given good, tough match-ups.

The complete card at time of press is as follows:

Jean Silva (pictures) vs. Vitor Ribeiro (pictures)
James Thompson (pictures) vs. Andy Costello (pictures)
Jason Delucia (pictures) vs. Antony Rea (pictures)
Paul Jenkins (pictures) vs. Abdul Mohamed (pictures)
Evagelista Santos vs. Mike Bisping
Mark Weir (pictures) vs. Kyosuke Sasaki (pictures)
Jorge Rivera (pictures) vs. Marcelo Azevedo (pictures)
Alex Evan (pictures)s vs. Tulio Paleres
Paul Daley (pictures) vs. Hassan Muridi (pictures)
Melvin Manhoef (pictures) vs. Fabio Piemonte
Jeremy Bailey (pictures) vs. Dean Bray (pictures)
Ross Mason (pictures) vs. Dexter Casey (pictures)
Brad Pickett (pictures) vs. Ozzy Haluk (pictures)
Mark Buchanan (pictures) vs. Kuljit Degun (pictures)

“Viking invasion” at CageWarriors: Strike Force

Pointy helmet … beard … long boat with a naked lady on the front … ‘ere, hang on a moment …

CageWarriors: Strike Force 3 will continue the trend of a plucky UK team taking on a team captained by Johnny Foreigner and his mates. On October 1 it’s the turn of the Scandinavians, as fighters from the frozen North make their way (slightly) south to the Skydome Arena in Coventry.

The card is yet to be announced, but four members of the Wolfslair Academy are expected to strut their funky scouser stuff.
