Bermudez, who owns a victory over UFC veteran Shannon Gugerty, was a semifinalist in the 2010 Shine Fights lightweight grand prix. The 24-year-old Saugerties, N.Y., native wrestled collegiately at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he was considered one of the Top 25 wrestlers in the country. Bermudez will enter “The Ultimate Fighter” on a two-fight losing streak. He last appeared under the PA Fighting Championships banner in November, submitting to a first-round rear-naked choke from Jordan Rinaldi.
