Namajunas was a 20-year-old prospect when she faced Catron and authored one of the most memorable submissions of 2013, finishing Catron with a flying armbar 12 seconds into the first round at the Ameristar Casino. It remains the fastest finish in Invicta Fighting Championships history and by a considerable margin. Namajunas drilled Catron with a left hook, punched into close quarters and took flight, securing the armbar on the way down. Before Catron or the audience realized what was happening, she was forced to tap. Namajunas later reached the final on Season 20 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and has since become the undisputed UFC women’s strawweight champion.
