The stakes could not be higher for Edgar and Ortega, as a date with undisputed featherweight champion Max Holloway awaits the winner of this one. Edgar continues to work on a hall-of-fame resume, which includes a title reign at 155 pounds. The 36-year-old Toms River, New Jersey, native has lost to only three men: Jose Aldo (twice), Benson Henderson (twice) and Gray Maynard, all by decision. Edgar last competed at UFC 211 in May, when he stopped Yair Rodriguez on a second-round technical knockout. The unbeaten Ortega has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of the featherweight division. The former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion has finished five consecutive opponents, three of them with chokes.
