Rodish and Wright participated in the first fight in Invicta history, and it was a brief one. “Sassy Cassie” submitted the colorfully tattooed Wright with a guillotine choke 36 seconds into their atomweight battle at Memorial Hall, bringing the fledgling promotion to life with a bang. Operating out of the Des Moines Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Iowa, Rodish refused to touch gloves at the start, closed the distance and dumped Wright to the mat. From there, she went to work on the choke, pinned Wright to the cage in a seated position and cranked, eliciting a quick tapout. It was part of a four-fight losing streak for Wright, who left the sport in 2013.
