A Blazing Start

Larissa Pacheco will have the opportunity to conquer one of MMA’s historic figures when the Professional Fighters League’s first two-division champion meets reigning Bellator MMA women’s titleholder Cris Cyborg in the PFL Super Fights “Battle of the Giants: Brace for Impact” co-main event on Oct. 19 at The Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A victory over Justino would not only bring with it the newly minted PFL superfight women’s featherweight title but establish her as one of the best female mixed martial artists of all-time.

Pacheco took the road less traveled to become a champion in the PFL. A deeper look at her remarkable career to this point:

A Blazing Start in Brazil



Pacheco’s career could not have started any better in her native Brazil. She finished each of her first 10 opponents, with five wins by submission and five wins by knockout or technical knockout. Pacheco secured her most significant victory on the regional scene when she stopped Irene Aldana with third-round punches to capture the vacant Jungle Fight women’s bantamweight crown on Dec. 21, 2013. She eventually rode the title to an opportunity with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
