No one could have foreseen the unprecedented heights Conor McGregor would reach when he arrived in the Ultimate Fighting Championship a little more than four years ago.
A first-rate talent with the charisma to match, McGregor has since turned the mixed martial arts world upside down. He claimed titles in the featherweight and lightweight division, becoming the first fighter in history to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously. Along the way, he engaged in one of MMA’s most memorable rivalries and felled fellow prospects, pretenders, contenders and future champions, all while enjoying a Midas touch at the box office. McGregor now turns his attention to the Sweet Science’s biggest fish, as he takes on the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing super fight this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
