TOKYO Fans must be wondering: What do we have here? This is neither a UFC nor PRIDE event so why the preview? SHOOTO isn't shown on Pay-Per-View outside Japan and I barely know any of these "small" guys, so why bother?
The oldest MMA organization in the world is finally holding the "big one" on Friday, Feb. 17 at Yoyogi No.2 gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. For this event the International SHOOTO commission, along with top SHOOTO promoter Sustain, has assembled one of the best line-ups of the year in terms of up-and-comers and established fighters.
Nine bouts mixed with international talent from the SHOOTO world rankings will be headlined by three title fights, featuring the highly-anticipated contest between SHOOTO welterweight champion Tatsuya Kawajiri (Pictures) and his top-ranked challenger Joachim Hansen (Pictures).
