Antonio Schembri (Pictures), Daijiro Matsui (Pictures), Akira Shoji (Pictures) and Anderson Silva (Pictures) are in town. No, it’s not another UFC UK — it’s Cage Rage and aren’t I bloody glad that that it’s this time of the year again.
Seriously. I’ve been working like a dog for the last few weeks and one of the few things that’s kept me going has been the anticipation that this card carries with it. On paper, CR14 looks superb. In every Sherdog preview I’ve done for Cage Rage in the last year or two, I keep trotting out the same old tired line about how Cage Rage has outdone itself this time, and how far it has come since those days where tiny but electric cards were held in sleazy venues in the arse-end of London.
It may be boring and repetitive but as long as the promoters keep pushing the envelope like this then they deserve all the praise they can get. Let’s just hope that the fights live up to the billing.
