Just My Thoughts: K-1, PRIDE and UFC 47

My perspective on CroCop, McDonald, Ortiz and others.
Okay; let me kick off this week by introducing you loyal readers of Sherdog.com to my brand-spankin’ new weekly column, “Just My Thoughts.” To somewhat coincide with Greg Savage’s grossly popular “The Savage Truth,” I felt it necessary to express my opinions, insight and observations through a weekly column. The ringside reports, interviews and general articles I create are decent enough, but nothing compares to debatable columns such as this.

For starters, this column (and everything else I write) is not going to be utilized as some cheap forum to bash fighters and disrespect them, as other featured articles sometimes do. I have never bad-mouthed any fighter and never will unless such a fighter does something so dastardly like sucker-punching his opponent after a fight when his gloves are off. Many readers thought for some reason that my article on Tito Ortiz several weeks back was a medium to bash him, yet the article was actually the complete opposite. I grew weary of fans and writers alike bashing Tito for “ducking” Chuck Liddell and in turning their backs on “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.” In turn, I felt it was my duty to give Tito his due props (even though someone at TitoOrtiz.com didn’t see it that way).

And lastly, before I spew my thoughts, take everything I write with a grain of salt. I am just giving you my opinions and whatever expertise I may have on a fighter or event. Even though it may come as a shock to many of you, I don’t know everything that goes on in the world of MMA nor do I want to. I can easily uncover every detail of every fighter and everybody else involved in the sport and let my fingers go wild, but why? I don’t really care about Fighter A’s personal life and whether he has a hard time sleeping at night or if Fighter B got liquored up one day and fornicated with Fighter D’s wife while Fighter C filmed it. Nobody truly wants to know if Fighter E is constipated. It’s not my job to dig into people’s personal life and I find it rather disrespectful to do just that and then blab to the world about it. I’m sure most of you will agree. So without further ado; take it away, boys:
