UFC veteran Jamie Yager will make his welterweight debut against Alan Jouban at Tachi Palace Fights 9 on May 6 at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif.
The show will feature a pivotal flyweight encounter between two world-ranked competitors, as Greg Jackson product John Dodson squares off with former two-division Shooto champion Mamoru Yamaguchi. Additionally, four UFC and Strikeforce exiles will also compete on the card, as Gerald Harris locks horns with Anthony Ruiz and Efrain Escudero dances with Fabricio Camoes.
A cast member on both the short-lived BET series “Iron Ring” and the much more successful “The Ultimate Fighter,” Yager made his official UFC debut at the show’s Season 11 finale in June, when he was knocked out in the second round by Rich Attonito and subsequently released by the promotion. Yager rebounded with a win in January, submitting his opponent in a local California show in just 90 seconds.
Jouban made his professional debut at TPF 8 one week ago, knocking out Kyle Griffin. Jouban needed only 15 seconds to dispatch UFC lightweight Tyson Griffin’s younger brother, landing a knee to Griffin’s jaw during a takedown attempt that earned him the stoppage victory.
