Nordine Taleb scored a sensational second-round knockout over Erick Silva to ignite the still-filling MGM Grand Garden Arena.
After a touch-and-go opening round, Taleb caught the Brazilian’s right leg and then drilled him with a straight counter right hand to the face. Silva’s circuits were frayed; he spun halfway around and fell flat onto his face. Before veteran ref Herb Dean could intervene, Taleb crushed Silva’s cantaloupe with another missile of a right hand, officially ending the fight at 1:34 of the second.
