Heavyweight contender Trey Lippe Morrison has suffered a nasty laceration in training and has been removed from next weekend’s ShoBox: The New Generation event. Set for Feb. 10 at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla., the originally-planned quadrupleheader has been reduced to a tripleheader as the promoters decided to not locate a replacement for Morrison’s opponent, Daniel Martz.

“I’m very disappointed for Trey because this is the best camp that we’ve had together,” said trainer Freddie Roach. “Trey should be healed and back in the gym in three or four weeks to come back stronger than ever.”

The event is set to be headlined by a super lightweight encounter between Ivan Baranchyk (13-0, 10 KOs) and Abel Ramos (17-1-2, 12 KOs). The new co-feature will see light heavyweights Lenin Castillo (15-0-1, 10 KOs) and Joe Williams (10-0, 7 KOs) tango over eight rounds while an eight-round super featherweight tussle between Jon Fernandez (10-0, 8 KOs) and Ernesto Garza (7-1, 4 KOs) will open the telecast.

The action will be televised live on Showtime beginning at 10:05 p.m. ET/7:05 p.m. PT.
