Peace Point Entertainment, a Toronto-based media company, has acquired global rights to an upcoming documentary about UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre titled “The DNA of GSP.”
Currently in production, the film is a co-venture between Jimmy Lee Inc., Triplex Films and Upside Up Media Group, and is being co-directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester, the executive creative director and partner of ad agency Sid Lee.
The DNA of GSP is billed as an “all-access” exploration of St-Pierre’s life, career and approach to the sport, which combines mixed martial arts, boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. “It’s a privilege to work with Georges, his team and the UFC,” executive producer Bruno Ménard said in a statement. “Our intimate access will ensure an emotional and triumphant story.”
St. Pierre is no stranger to the documentarian’s lens: the longtime 170-pound ace was chronicled alongside countryman David Loiseau in the 2010 film “The Striking Truth.”
