Chris Weidman does not see a place for testosterone replacement therapy in mixed martial arts, as he barrels towards a showdown with a resurgent Vitor Belfort.

One of the highest-profile users of the controversial TRT, Belfort figures to challenge the Serra-Longo Fight Team standout for his Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight crown sometime in 2014. In a recent interview with “The MMA Hour,” Weidman pulled no punches when talk turned to “The Phenom” and testosterone replacement therapy.

“It’s more a cloud for him,” Weidman said. “He’s the one who got caught cheating once. Now he’s taking TRT and I don’t think it’s right. I did hear from other TRT users, not to mention names, but I’ve heard TRT is a good way to cover up other things. I don’t know much about the business that these guys are in, but that doesn’t seem cool to me, for a guy who’s not taking anything.”

Weidman retained his middleweight title at UFC 168 in December, when he checked a low kick from former champion Anderson Silva, breaking the Brazilian’s lower leg and forcing an immediate stoppage.
