The debate over testosterone replacement therapy has provided some heat to the forthcoming UFC on FX 8 main event between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold on Saturday at the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil.
Rockhold has remained outspoken with his criticism of Belfort and his use of TRT, even suggesting prolonged past steroid usage as a potential cause for the Brazilian’s low testosterone levels. Belfort, as one might expect, has not taken kindly to those suggestions.
A former Strikeforce champion, Rockhold will enter his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut on a nine-fight winning streak. The 28-year-old American Kickboxing Academy export last appeared in July, when he cruised to a five-round unanimous decision over Tim Kennedy. Belfort, meanwhile, has won eight of his past 10 bouts, losing only to Anderson Silva and Jon Jones in that span.
