This Day in MMA History: Oct. 15

On Oct. 15, 2017, Rizin Fighting Federation was in Fukuoka, Japan, for Rizin World Grand Prix 2017: Opening Round - Part 2.

In the Grand Prix, Manel Kape TKO’d Erson Yamamoto in the first round, Kevin Petshi edged out a split decision over Jae Hoon Moon and Shintaro Ishiwatari beat Akhmed Musakaev by decision.

The card also featured Tenshin Nasukawa, who took a decision win over Yamato Fujita where Nasukawa, Rene Kubota, who knocked out Andy Nguyen in the main event.

Ken Shamrock was also on the card in a grappling match against Kazushi Sakuraba, which ended in a draw. Dan Henderson was originally supposed to grapple on the card against Sakuraba but he suffered a neck injury, so Shamrock stepped in.
