This Day in MMA History: Nov. 28

On Nov. 28, 2015, the Ultimate Fighting Championship was in Seoul for UFC Fight Night 79.

In the main event, Benson Henderson battled Jorge Masvidal in a very close fight where Henderson edged out a split decision (47-48, 48-47, 49-46). The win was the former lightweight champion’s last in the Las Vegas-based promotion. Since then, Henderson has fought for Bellator, where he has put together a 5-3 promotional record. Masvidal, meanwhile, suffered another split decision loss in his next fight and has gone 6-3 since the loss.

The co-main event saw Dong Hyun Kim TKO Dominic Waters in the first round. The rest of the main card featured Alberto Mina beating Yoshihiro Akiyama by split decision and Doo Ho Choi knocking out Sam Sicilia in the first round.

Notable performances on the prelims included Dongi Yang TKOing Jake Collier and Dominique Steele knocking out Dong Hyun Ma by slam in the third round.

Another notable fight was Tae Hyun Bang beating Leo Kantz by split decision. Two years later, Bang was sentenced to 10 months in prison for accepting bribes in connection to attempts to throw his fight.
