Aldo defended his 145-pound championship with a unanimous decision over Team Alpha Male’s Chad Mendes in the UFC 179 main event on Saturday at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. Afterward, talk turned to a still-hypothetical showdown between Aldo and McGregor, who will carry a 12-fight winning streak into his matchup with Dennis Siver on Jan. 18 in Boston.
