The season premiere of “The Ultimate Fighter 14” earned an average of 1.5 million viewers for its Spike TV broadcast Wednesday night.
Additionally, the episode ranked first in its time slot in both aforementioned male categories, and was the No. 2 program for the day among males 18-49.
Season 14 will be the last installment of “TUF” broadcast on Spike for the foreseeable future, as the UFC recently signed a seven-year broadcast deal with Fox. The Season 14 premiere featured all 16 preliminary fights, as 16 bantamweight and 16 featherweight competitors battled for just 16 total spots in “The Ultimate Fighter” house.
The first season to showcase 135- and 145-pound fighters, Season 14 features middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Jason Miller as coaches. At the end of the season, the pair will square off at the live finale, going down Dec. 3 from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
