Episode nine of “The Ultimate Fighter 14” matched last week’s showing in the ratings department, netting 1.4 million viewers for its Wednesday night broadcast on Spike TV.
Spike officials announced the episode nine figures on Thursday, confirming that the episode also drew ratings of 1.71 and 1.44 in the male 18-34 and 18-49 demographics, respectively. According to Spike, the show also posted a 1.1 household rating and ranked third in the aforementioned male demographics for its time slot behind offerings from Comedy Central and FX.
Episode nine revealed the season’s first bantamweight finalist, as Team Bisping’s T.J. Dillashaw outpointed Team Miller’s Dustin Pague. Dillashaw used his powerful wrestling base to put Pague on his back throughout the contest, though Pague’s active guard and offense from the bottom forced the fight into a third-round tie-breaker. The final frame would belong to Dillashaw, however, as the Team Alpha Male representative punched his ticket to the live finale on Dec. 3.
