Spike: UFC 132 ‘Prelims Live’ Special Earns 1.2 Million Viewers

Spike TV’s UFC 132 “Prelims Live” special earned an average of 1.2 million viewers on Saturday night, the cable network announced Wednesday.

According to numbers released to Sherdog.com by Spike, the one-hour broadcast also earned a 0.8 household rating, as well as ratings of 1.1 and 1.04 in the Male 18-49 and M18-34 demographics, respectively. The network also relayed that Spike TV ranked second in its time period in both of the aforementioned male demographics, trailing only the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on TNT.

Airing one hour prior to the event’s pay-per-view broadcast, the show featured a pair of spectacular lightweight knockouts, as Melvin Guillard finished Shane Roller and Rafael dos Anjos turned out the lights on George Sotiropoulos.

Headlined by the promotion’s inaugural bantamweight title scrap between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, UFC 132 went down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Cruz outpointed Faber to retain his title in a competitive five-round affair.
