The drama for polarizing and troubled WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner continued on Thursday as “The Problem” had problems making the 140-pound weight limit. Even after stripping down to his birthday suit at Thursday’s weigh-ins, Broner was still heavy by four ounces.
Broner had two hours to lose the extra baggage or else he’d be stripped of his title and possibly fined a percentage of his purse, though the fight will likely go on as scheduled. No other combatants on the main card missed weight.
Broner is slated to face Theopane in the main event of the next Premier Boxing Champions card Friday night from within the DC Armory in the Nation’s Capital. The PBC on Spike event goes live on the cable network starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
