PBC on NBC Weigh-in Results: Fonfara, Smith Jr. On Point

Premier Boxing Champions returns to the UIC Pavilion in Chicago on Saturday night with a solid card of boxing action. PBC on NBC will be anchored by a light heavyweight encounter between veteran Andrzej Fonfara and Joe Smith Jr. over 10 rounds and at Friday’s weigh-ins, both men came in at the 175-pound weight limit.

Smith, from Long Island, N.Y., has reeled off 15 consecutive wins, 11 of them by knockout since suffering his lone professional defeat. Smith (21-1, 17 KOs) looked as ready as ever on the scales and came in officially at 173 pounds.

Fonfara (28-3, 16 KOs), who hails from Poland but resides in the Windy City, looked solid on Friday as well. The former WBC light heavyweight title challenger has won three straight since losing a decision to Adonis Stevenson two years ago and tipped the scale at 174.5 pounds, green-lighting the skirmish.

The co-featured bout will see bantamweight titleholder Juan Carlos Payano (17-0, 8 KOs) defend his belt against 2008 Olympian Rau’shee Warren. The Dominican Republic native checked in at 117.2 pounds while Warren (13-1, 4 KOs), came in at 117.

NBC will televise the action beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT.
