PBC on Bounce Weigh-in Results: Smith, Galarza Cleared to Box

Premier Boxing Champions returns to the Chelsea Ballroom inside the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas on Friday night with another edition of PBC on Bounce TV. Headlining the fistic festivities will be a 10-round junior middleweight showdown between former champion Ishe Smith and Frank Galarza, while the rest of the card will be loaded with contenders and prospects.

Smith (28-8, 12 KOs) is looking to win second straight bout after dropping a majority decision to Vanes Matirosyan last September. The Las Vegas native is a former IBF 154-pound champion and though he came up short against Erislandy Lara in 2014 for the WBA version of the belt, “Sugar Shay” is giving it one last push to try and capture gold once again. At Thursday’s weigh-ins, he came in officially at 157.4 pounds.

Galarza (17-1-2, 11 KOs) is coming off the first loss of his pro ledger, a six-round stoppage at the hands of Jarret Hurd last November. The Brooklynite was among the more promising prospects coming from the East Coast before he lost and he aims to get back on track against a cagy veteran who will easily be the toughest, most experienced fighter he’ll have faced up to this point. Like Smith, Galarza was on point at the scale; he checked in at 154 pounds.
