PBC on Bounce Weigh-in Results: Easter Jr., Shafikov Cleared for Title Tilt

Mike SloanJun 29, 2017

Premier Boxing Champions returns to Bounce on Friday night with another event loaded with boxing action. Robert Easter Jr. is set to defend his IBF lightweight title against Denis Shafikov in the main event and at Thursday’s weigh-ins, everything went off without a hitch.

Shafikov (38-2-1, 20 KOs) came up short for the very same title he’s challenging for when lost a 12-round decision to Rances Barthelemy in December 2015. The Russian has since rebounded with a TKO win over Jamel Herring and then a split decision win over Richard Commey to earn his title shot. Shafikov was the first to weigh in and he came in at 134.5 pounds.

Easter Jr. (19-0, 14 KOs) will be fighting in front of his hometown fans for what will be the second defense of his world title. Easter Jr. captured the belt last September when he edged Commey via split decision and has since defended it via unanimous nod over Luis Cruz in February. Easter Jr. checked in at 134 pounds.

The action will go live on Bounce TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. from inside Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.
