PBC on Bounce TV Returns with Tony Thompson vs. Malik Scott

Premier Boxing Champions has set its next event for Bounce TV and it will be at The Venue at UCF in Orlando, Fla. on Oct. 30. Headlining the marquee will be a heavyweight showdown between veterans Tony Thompson and Malik Scott.

The co-main event will be a junior welterweight battle between unbeaten prospects Haskell Lydell Rhodes (23-0-1, 11 KOs) and Sergey Lipinets (7-0, 6 KOs) in a 10-rounder.

Opening up the telecast, which begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, will be Javontae Starks (13-0, 7 KOs) taking on Samuel Figueroa (9-0, 4 KOs) in an eight-round welterweight affair.

Thompson (40-5, 27 KOs) has twice locked horns with undisputed heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko and he’s coming off an eighth-round stoppage of Odlanier Solis in February. Now he has his sights set on Scott in an attempt to hopefully one day get another crack at the world title.

"It's great to be fighting on PBC on Bounce in a heavyweight fight like this," Thompson said in a statement. "I'm not looking past Malik Scott because he's an experienced and crafty fighter. I think most fighters will stay away from a style like Malik's but everyone knows I will fight anyone. I'll be looking to make a statement against him by pressing the action and keeping him out of his comfort zone."

Scott (37-2-1, 13 KOs) hasn’t fought in almost a year, where he toppled Alex Leapai via unanimous 1-round decision. Before that, he challenged Deontay Wilder in a WBC heavyweight title eliminator, but Scott was erased in the opening round. "I'm very thankful for this opportunity and ready to put on a great performance," said Scott. "It was exactly one year ago on this date, October 30, that I went to Australia and beat Alex Leapai and I look forward to getting in the ring and putting on a show against Tony Thompson. Tony is a world-class fighter and a victory over him will lead to bigger and better things for me."
