Minotoro: Not Yet Time for Wanderlei to Retire

World-ranked light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira discussing the future of countryman Wanderlei Silva (Pictured) -- who was knocked out by Chris Leben in the UFC 132 co-main event on July 2 -- in an exclusive interview with Sherdog.com:

“I don’t think it’s time [for him to retire]. He still has a lot of fights left in him. Defeat is a consequence. Leben was intent on striking, and Wanderlei seemed to want a fast knockout. Wanderlei has a good counterattack and a good sequence of punches, especially when the other guy kicks. He did it very well against Keith Jardine and [Kazushi] Sakuraba. He was doing well. Leben kicked and Wanderlei rocked him. However, he got too excited about extending the sequence, lowered his head and took that punch from Chris. And where he took it, it’s normal to go down. It happened to me against [Rameau Thierry] Sokoudjou and with [my brother, Antonio] Rodrigo [Nogueira] against Cain Velasquez.”
