After spending just 18 months in retirement, MMA legend B.J. Penn announced his return to action this past January, and since then, is now on his fourth slated opponent. Breen and Bohn look at how Penn exited the sport in his third bout with Frankie Edgar and the circumstances that have led to him being slated to face Dennis Siver, Cole Miller, Ricardo Lamas and now Yair Rodriguez. The two also look at how Penn's unique technical and physical abilities make it harder for him to call it quits and whether there is a chance for another fight after Rodriguez, win or lose, should Penn make it to the bout.
Breen and Bohn also look at another dubious comeback, as 40-year-old Fedor Emelianenko will meet UFC veteran Matt Mitrione this coming February inside the Bellator cage. Breen and Bohn size up whether an opponent like Tito Ortiz would have made more sense for Emelianenko, what we learned from Emelianenko's controversial June bout with Fabio Maldonado and what plans Scott Coker and Co. Have for “The Last Emperor,” if any.
