Jeremy Botter Joins Press Row

Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by FloSports.com managing editor Jeremy Botter.

It's official: the UFC is being sold to talent agency WME-IMG with a host of other investors and equity firms. Breen talks to Botter about his outstanding coverage of the UFC sale story as it developed, Zuffa's attempts to undermine his reporting, how the new regime will deal with the MMA media and controlling stories they don't want in the public. The two also forecast Dana White's role in the UFC going forward, hypothesizing a very possible good cop-bad cop routine between White and his new corporate partners.

Breen and Botter also dig into lesser covered aspects of the UFC sale, including how WME-IMG will deal with athletes represented by rival talent agency Creative Artists Agency such as Cain Velasquez, what sorts of decisions will be “board room” decisions going forward, how WME-IMG's ownership will impact the next negotiation of the UFC's television rights and how much that deal might be worth.
