Glory announced on Tuesday that Hesdy Gerges (50-18-1, 23 KOs) will face off against Mladen Brestovac (53-12-1, 34 KOs) in a pivotal heavyweight showdown. The two will headline the Glory 45 SuperFight Series undercard, which goes down Sep. 30 at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam.
In what will be the promotion’s fourth event held in The Netherlands, the local fans will see their hero Robin Van Roosmalen (38-7, 21 KOs) make his first official defense of his featherweight crown in the Glory 45: Amsterdam main event when he collides with Serhiy Adamchuk. The former Glory lightweight champ dropped down to featherweight and stopped Gabriel Varga at Glory 34 last October to win the belt, but “Pokerface” lost it on the scale when he failed to make weight at Glory 37. The Dutch striker reclaimed his throne by beating Petpanomrung at Glory 41.
Adamchuk (35-8, 14 KOs) was the Glory featherweight champion for nearly a year before losing it to Varga at Glory 32. The Ukrainian has struggled as of late, having lost three of five overall, but he dominated Dylan Salvador at Glory 42 in June to earn a crack at the current champ.
Rounding out the Glory 45: Amsterdam main card is a welterweight showdown between former world champion Nieky Holzken (90-13, 46 KOs) and rival Yoann Kongolo (65-9, 46 KOs) in the co-feature. A four-man same-night light heavyweight contender tournament will bolster the card as Imad Hadar will square off against Manny Mancha in the first semifinal bout while Michael Duut will collide with Dragos Zubco.
Exact broadcast details of the event will be released shortly.
