Glory 23 to Invade Las Vegas in August

Premier kickboxing promotion Glory will finally make its Las Vegas debut on Aug. 7, with a welterweight title fight between Nieky Holzken and Raymond Daniels anchoring the event.

Glory 23 will be held inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and televised live on Spike TV as part of its Friday Night Lights Out series.

Glory officially announced the Vegas event earlier today, a few hours ahead of its Glory 22 card from France. On Thursday, reigning Glory welterweight champion “Bazooka” Joe Valtellini announced he was vacating his title to take a break from training and contact. His decision to relinquish his title paved the way for Holzken and Daniels to battle for it. The two previously fought a memorable war back on the Glory 19 card, with “The Natural” besting Daniels via knockout in the third round.

Holzken, who hails from the Netherlands, has won seven straight fights including wins over Davit Kiria and Valtellini. The K-1 veteran has yet to lose inside the Glory ring and should be favored when he again locks horns with the American. Daniels was defeated by Valtellini but bounced back from the loss to Holzken with a first round knockout of Justin Baesman back on May 8.

Also on the card will be a four-man middleweight tournament as well as a plethora of super fights, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
