It’s no secret that former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion Josh Barnett loves himself some metal music. Known as “The Warmaster” in an homage to his favorite death metal band Bolt Thrower, Barnett is one of the most colorful characters in all of MMA.
Amon Amarth released a humorous teaser video for their upcoming single on Tuesday, “First Kill,” which is the initial single for their upcoming tenth studio album “Jomsviking.” In the clip, which is dubbed, “Keyboard Warrior,” the band mocks the clichéd loser who lives in his mother’s basement and begins trolling the band in a chat room. After posting an inflammatory comment that accuses the band of not being lousy and not “real” Vikings, his power is shut off.
As soon as the power to the basement comes back on, the troll, who had been guzzling Mountain Dew and feasting on a microwave meat pocket, gets punched through his computer monitor by a Viking. Once the kid realizes what happened and notices his nose is bloodied, the Viking, played by Barnett, appears in his basement. From there, Barnett picks the kid up, rips his throat out and then clubs him with a giant hammer similar to what Thor wielded in ancient Norse mythology. The kid’s brain splatters across the screen before the clip ends with a brief snippet of the new song.
Barnett is coming off a unanimous decision win over Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night 75.
