Brian Camozzi vs. Nick Barnes to Headline RFA 43 in Colorado

Las Vegas-based MMA promotion Resurrection Fighting Alliance announced that Brian Camozzi will take on Nick Barnes in the main event of RFA 43, which goes down on Sep. 9 in Broomfield, Co. The 1stBank Center will serve as the host venue and AXS TV will televise the main card starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Camozzi, the younger brother of UFC veteran Chris Camozzi, will take on “The Phoenix” for the vacant RFA welterweight title. “The Mantis” has been impressive thus far into his young career and has won four straight fights. He most recently took out Kenneth Glenn at RFA 37 in the third courtesy of a knee to the head, this after scorching Tyler Milner in just 80 seconds.

Barnes has won two straight since suffering his lone professional defeat. He began his career with nine wins in a row and he’s looked terrific in his last two outings. After choking out James Terry at Bellator 147, the Californian edged tough Jose Diaz via unanimous decision at RFA 38.

“RFA loves coming to Colorado,” stated RFA President Ed Soares. “Our welterweight division has a long and exciting history in the state. On Friday, Sept. 9th, Brian Camozzi and Nick Barnes will continue that tradition. I am looking forward to their title fight at RFA 43.”

Also slated for the bill will be a middleweight showdown between Adam Stroup and Gabriel Checco, which will act as the evening’s co-main event. Boston Salmon will lock horns with Zac Riley in a bantamweight tussle as well.

The rest of the main card, as well as the full undercard will be announced soon.
